Volunteering
Become a part of BVA and make a difference in Boundary County and help make it safer for residents and visitors alike. Being an EMT is one of the most rewarding things that someone can do. It takes hard work dedication and sometimes long hard days to be a member of BVA, but BVA is a family. Once a person becomes a member, they are family, so come join our family and help the community, receive training, cost reimbursement for calls and have fun.

Boundary volunteer Ambulance is looking for drivers, office staff and people interested in becoming EMT's and extrication technicians. All members receive training in the area related to their position at no cost to the member; with the training provided you could continue your education and pursue becoming a Paramedic. BVA offers many opportunities for many walks of life, but requires dedication and hard work.

The following is a list of criteria for positions; training is provided by BVA.
All members will receive NIMS 700,800 & ICS 100,200 training and hold a valid CPR AED and FIRST AID card.

Driver
- Drive and operate ambulance.
- Assist EMT's in patient care.
- Assist with maintenance.
- Must restock and prepare ambulance for next call.
- Keep vehicle logs up to date and current.
- Attend 1 training meeting per month.

Office Staff
- Help to maintain and keep office clean.
- Write reports or type documents if needed.
- Assist Chief and other staff with daily duties.
- Ensure vehicles are in a response ready condition.
- Assist with inventory and restocking of all supplies.

EMT-Basic/Advanced
- Obtain and hold valid National Registry.
- Obtain and hold a valid State EMT card.
- Deals with patient care and patient packaging
- Responsible for ambulance and crews during runs
- Transfers patients from facility to facility
- Receives monthly training and the option to expand on skill sets
- May advance to EMT Advanced (if member wishes to)
- Responsible for filling out call reports and run logs
- Responsible for making sure the ambulance is in a ready state after each run
